The PAO 3-9×50 IR Mil-Dot Riflescope is a budget-busting all-round telescopic sight. It comes with a mil-dot crosshair that’s illuminable, finger adjustable turrets, flip-up scope covers and ready-fitted, two-piece mounts! It also has variable magnification, so you can really zoom into your target. This makes it ideal for both hunting and target shooting.

Zoom Magnification

The PAO 3-9×50 IR Mil-Dot Riflescope features variable magnification between 3x power and 9x power. On the highest magnification, your target will appear nine times closer! For example, if your target is 36 yards away, it will look like it’s just four yards away through the scope! The magnification can be set via the zoom ring in front of the eyepiece, with rotates steplessly.

Lenses

PAO has matched it 3-9x zoom scope with a front, objective lens of 50mm in diameter. This means the sight picture will remain extremely bright, even on full power. Additionally, the lens arrays of the PAO 3-9×50 IR Mil-Dot Riflescope have been fully coated to ensure maximum light transmission. This makes it an especially good scope for shooting in low light levels, like at dawn and dusk.

To facilitate a pin-sharp sight picture, the PAO 3-9×50 IR Mil-Dot Riflescope is equipped with a fast-focus eyepiece. This makes it ideal for shooters who normally wear spectacles.

The PAO 3-9×50 IR Mil-Dot Riflescope also comes with high-contrast, flip-up lens covers to protect both its objective and eyepiece lenses.

IR – Illuminated Reticle (Mil-Dot)

In addition to the large objective lens, the PAO 3-9×50 IR Mil-Dot Riflescope is ‘IR’ rated. This means it has an Illuminated Reticle. This is useful when you are shooting in poor or tricky lighting, or if your target is against a dark background making it difficult to see a standard black crosshair. Simply switch on the IR function, and the crosshair will light up in red! Also, you can adjust the brightness intensity to suit the sight picture.

Besides the IR feature, the PAO 3-9×50 IR Mil-Dot Riflescope has a mil-dot reticle. The outer cross is made up of thick posts, while the thinner, central crosswire has dots on it, spaced in milliradians.

SFP Crosshair

Because the crosshair is set in the second focal plane (SFP), the size of the target in relation to the mil-dot crosshair will vary according to the magnification setting of the scope. In conjunction with the mil-dots and bars, this makes it possible to range-find with the PAO 3-9×50 IR Mil-Dot Riflescope, using the ‘bracketing’ method.

Parallax is fixed at 35 yards.

Finger Adjustable Turrets

The PAO 3-9×50 IR Mil-Dot Riflescope has contemporary styled, finger adjustable elevation and windage turrets. This means you do not need a coin to turn them, making the zeroing-in process a lot easier. The turrets offer 1/4MOA click adjustments, which allows for a very precise zero, even at long ranges.

Scope Mounts

Unlike many scopes, the PAO 3-9×50 IR Mil-Dot Riflescope is supplied complete with pre-fitted mounts. The two-piece set provided by PAO are ‘High’ format. This ensures the objective lens will clear the rifle’s receiver. They have standard 11mm (3/8″) dovetail clamps and come with all the necessary hex keys to fit them. (If your rifle has a wider Weaver or Picatinny rail, you will need these 1″ mounts.)

Construction

The PAO 3-9×50 IR Mil-Dot Riflescope is made from aircraft grade aluminium, with a one-piece body tube that is 1″ in diameter. It has been Nitrogen filled to ensure against fogging. The scope is also shockproof and waterproof and comes with a Lifetime Warranty.

It is supplied with an instruction manual (written in clear English).
